Habitat receives a grant from Home Depot Foundation

Back in September, Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity received a phone call from a concerned Veteran donor about our tool theft. He wanted to make a $2000 donation towards the purchase of replacement tools. He made a request for us to see if the local Home Depot would match that amount with an in-kind $2000 matching grant.
It took a little conversation, a written grant and working with our local Home Depot management and the Home Depot Foundation. We are thrilled to announce that the Home Depot foundation will support an in-kind match to our donor’s cash donation. This makes the entire donation received, $4000. These funds will be use towards at least one local Veteran repair project and tool replacements. Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity will partner with our local Home Depot on a veteran home repair project with Home Depot employees and VVHFH volunteers.
This will be the first of many projects that will benefit local veterans in our community. The Home Depot Foundation feels strongly about empowering people to serve and give back to their community. Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity is proud to stand next to them in this mission.
