Celebrate Mother’s Day
We all have something in common… we all have a Mom. If you are blessed to have your Mom with you on this Mother’s day, we all understand the importance and just how special they are to our family unit and to our personal growth.
I remember warmly my Mom being home everyday at lunch to greet me with a smile and delicious lunch, which always included my favorite chocolate ice cream shake. She has always been my biggest supporter and moral compass. I am blessed that she continues to be able to celebrate my successes in life, including my most recent at becoming the Director of Donor Relations here at Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity. She also reminds me to trust in God’s plan, even when things go wrong.
These days we all have different ways to celebrate the day with our Moms. Being new to the Verde Valley, I was interested in different Mother’s Day offerings in the area. During a conversation at our most recent fundraiser at the Courtyard by Marriott, event sponsor, Brighid McLoughlin with Cellar 433, let me know about an annual event they hold just south of us in Prescott, the Prescott Mother’s Day Fine Art & Wine. In it’s 32nd year, the festival features over 100 independent artists, food and cottage edibles! This would be a great day to not only spend time with my Mom, but to support another sponsor of our organization.
What ever you choose to do to celebrate your Mother’s day, remember that the most valuable gift you can give is the gift of your time.
