Wells Fargo has partnered with Verde Valley Habitat For Humanity through a program that Wells Fargo offers to local nonprofits and is helping to build the Hernandez Family Home. Verde Valley Habitat applied for the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation’s Team Member Volunteer Program. This program offers financial support to eligible public nonprofit housing organizations, when Wells Fargo team members help build, renovate, paint, or repair a home for low-to-moderate income home buyers or homeowners. This is a great program that not only helps Verde Valley Habitat For Humanity financially with this build but it also brings the team members from Wells Fargo out to the construction site to participate in the build itself. Verde Valley Habitat relies on its Volunteers to help keep costs low throughout the build and gives them a chance to build stronger relationships with their volunteers.
Wells Fargo has been a great partner for Verde Valley Habitat for many years and continues to do all they can to help! On Saturday, July 29th, Wells Fargo presented Verde Valley Habitat For Humanity with a check for $15,000 towards the Hernandez Home build. After the presentation, the Wells Fargo Branch Manager, Nitosha Richie and her team members spent the day helping to put up the interior walls of this home and doing site clean up.
The new homeowner, Rachel Hernandez and her son Jaime were on site for the day and the excitement from them both was overwhelming! Jaime is very excited to have his own room that he can paint and decorate however he wants, and since Jaime loves to cook he is even more excited to see the kitchen walls go up. Rachel is just excited to have a safe and decent place for Jaime to call home. Jaime has suffered from Brachial Plexus Palsy from birth and has spent a majority of his life in and out of hospitals. Jaime has under gone many surgeries in his lifetime which is why having a safe and decent place to call home is so important to his Mom, Rachel. As you can see in the picture to the right, Jaime spent the whole day smiling even while working hard on site clean up and watching the interior walls go up!
Verde Valley Habitat For Humanity would like to thank Wells Fargo for all of your support and continued partnership! Without you generosity and commitment to our community through Volunteering, we would not be able to accomplish our ongoing mission of eliminating poverty housing in the Verde Valley, or help Veterans, Seniors and Low-income families with Exterior Home Repairs and Wheelchair Ramps.
Please consider stopping by Wells Fargo and thanking Nitosha Richie and her team for all the great work they do with in our community. We ask that you support the businesses that support Verde Valley Habitat For Humanity.
