About Verde Valley Habitat

Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity (VVHFH) was founded in 1995. We work in partnership with God, community and qualified low income people in need to build simple, decent, affordable housing. The houses are sold to partnering families or individuals at no profit and with no interest charged. Partner families repay Verde Valley Habitat through a 20-30 year mortgage.

This affiliate has completed and dedicated 13 homes, and house #14 will be breaking ground in late summer 2016.

How Can I Help?

As a private non-profit organization, all of our funding comes from local contributions and partnerships. Donations of goods, services, and cash help to cover our operating costs, fund the building of our homes, obtain land for construction, and provide valuable services to our homeowners. Your financial support, your voice, and your time will help bring strength, stability and independence to families in need of a decent place to live. Decent shelter is something we all need to thrive.  With a little help we all have the potential to stand on our own.

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors donate money and materials to build Habitat houses. Our newhomeowners themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor – “sweat equity” – into building their homes, and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

Working toghether, sided by side, helps to build stable communities.  Through shelter we empower!
