About Verde Valley Habitat

Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity (VVHFH) was founded in 1995. We work in partnership with God, community and qualified low income people in need to build simple, decent, affordable housing. The houses are sold to partnering families or individuals at no profit and with no interest charged. Partner families repay Verde Valley Habitat through a 20-30 year mortgage.

The chapter has completed and dedicated 11 homes, and house #12 is close to closing. We received the permits for house #13 our first green build in Sedona, and our Construction Committee is working hard to partner with contractors to achieve a LEED Platinum Certification.

How Can I Help?

As a private non-profit organization, all of our funding comes from local contributions and partnerships. Donations of goods, services, and cash help to cover our operating costs, fund the building of our homes, obtain land for construction, and provide valuable services to our homeowners. The only way we can continue our mission to build homes is if people from the community – people like you – get involved and help. There are many ways you can become involved in the Habitat mission and help a family or individual in need to realize their dream to own a home.

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors donate money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor – “sweat equity” – into building their homes, and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

If you want to make a difference in the lives of those in your community, you can donate now. If you are unable to support us financially, you can give by volunteering your time.
