A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity (VVHFH) works in partnership with people in need to build simple decent, affordable housing. The houses are sold to partnering families at no profit and with no interest charged. Partner families repay Verde Valley Habitat through a 20 – 30 year mortgage.
As a private non-profit organization, all of our funding comes from local contributions and partnerships. Donations of goods, services, and cash help to cover our operating costs, fund the building of our homes, obtain land for construction, and provide valuable services to our homeowners. The only way we can continue our mission to build homes is if people from the community – people like you – get involved and help. There are many ways you can become involved in the Habitat mission and help a family in need to realize their dream to own a home.
Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors donate money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor – “sweat equity” – into building their homes, and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations will not proselytize. Nor will HFH work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with HFH. This means that HFH will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.

Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1995. The chapter has completed and dedicated 11 homes, and house #12 is close to completion. We received the permits for house #13 our first green build in Sedona, and our Construction Committee is working hard to partner with contractors to achieve a LEED Platinum Certification.
