Welcome to Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity
Building Strength, Stability and Self-Reliance through shelter.
Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity (VVHFH) is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and low income, working families in our community. Our partner families are required to make a minimal down payment, contribute 300- 450 hours of “sweat equity,” and pay for their home through an interest free, no-profit mortgage. They come from all walks of life and through VVHFH, they will become first time homeowners.
At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone everywhere deserves a decent place to live. Our program gives people a “hand up, not a hand out.” We empower families who are willing to work hard to achieve their dream of home ownership. Everyone in your community wins when Verde Valley Habitat develops and sells affordable housing to qualified deserving families. People in the Verde Valley partner with Habitat to build or improve a place they can call home. With our a little help, our new homeowners achieve the strength, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
Founded in 1995
Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1995. Our affiliate has completed and dedicated 13 homes. The 13th home was completed May of 2015. The Ryan family was been selected as the recipients of house #13 in Sedona.
Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity (VVHFH) is an inter-denominational Christian ministry whose purpose is to build homes in partnership with God, community and qualified low-income families in the Verde Valley.
VVHFH believes that volunteers are the backbone of our ministry. Many families in the Verde Valley would not be living in decent housing if it weren’t for you! Volunteer work provides an opportunity to grow, bond, and experience good feelings that are carried back to your family and the workplace.
Volunteers are always needed and appreciated and we have many opportunities. All it takes is your desire to make a difference in the lives of others! Click here to see how you can be involved.

Meet our next Habitat Homeowner!
Rachel Hernandez will be our 14th homeowner with Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity! We are scheduled to break ground in early fall of 2016.
Rachel Hernandez is a single Mom and lives with her disabled son, Jamie Valenzuela. She grew up in Clarkdale and moved to Casa Grande when she was 16 years old. She worked there at a nursing home as an activities director’s assistant and realized her love of the people there. She comes from this area as her grandparents and their parents lived in Jerome working in the mining industry. She moved back here three years ago after the hardship of managing the medical bills for Jamie, to move in with her family in Clarkdale, AZ. What resonates with her about our mission and purpose is the people here. She loves to shop here and also enjoys taking recycled things and turning them around into beautiful and usable items to help further the mission and purpose here. Rachel likes to volunteer and help people. She has a heart for ministry.
